...if you walk around like you can author a hit book that reads '' 100 sure-shot ways to woo women'' and truly believe you are an embodiment of that very charm, when in reality you neither respect nor care about anything more than having a dolled up female holding your arm.

Life isn't always full of surprises. Some of the really sizable moments build up, in almost gradual pulses. So eventual, it takes us by surprise.

It crept into her being, surreptitiously. Love, queer, and as enslaving at that. Foretold a hundred times over, and she hadn't cared.Perhaps, having gone far past that resistive sense of control.

For those brief moments when their gaze met, her heartbeats..Quick, steady, mild, excited. Increasingly making her aware of the power his lope-sided uneven smile was gathering over her. She didn't fully fathom how the short brushes of his skin against her own had emerged with a meaning anew or when his softly musty odor had become her perfume..Yet she filled with an animating restlessness. Her heart, taking deeper plunges into that forbidden scarlet ocean with the effect of an addict on a relapse.

Being receptive of her predicament hadn't helped. All she could pull off then was a smile. A smile of disarming contentment. And right then everything had seemed right with the world. She didn't need tinted glasses to see that shade so crimson. Youth and love stirred a concoction heady enough.

Today, even the winds seemed humid with that time gone by. Every single detail, sound, picture. Replayed. The past of the pulse she had dreamt of, built hopes on, nurtured. The pulse that had grown on her. She had held on to those moments with a familiar sense of longing.

Only this time, numbness seethed into her body. She felt a dollop of bile fill her gut. A tear rolled down her cheek as her head throbbed with the ache of the gash across her forehead.

Flashes of that once-favorite lope-sided smile. That always recognizable musty scent; Clouded by the accusation in those eyes and suspicion.

From the quite ,ever-smiling stalker sending love-letters or helping out with assignments, to the melodramatic "ill-fight-the-world-for-your-love" kind walking around like your body-guard, and claiming to write love-letters in blood!*shudder*

Sigh! Either which way Ive always failed to understand all this hullabaloo about love and given the utterly hopeless non-romantic Iam.. I stick to being the sadist who crushes all such advancements unabashedly! "Arrogant and heartless" you say?? BULLSEYE!! :D

Nostalgia is a strong emotion and it creeps in at odd unexpected times.

On my way back home today,a cool wind ruffling my hair with a soft melody playing on my ipod in the background set me thinking.Set me wishing ,I could turn back time . Set me missing, being a kid and all the unobserved privilege and liberty that comes with it.All those little things that we many a times overlook,that make childhood worth it.Now I look back only to realize how all those precious moments are something I could never go back to completely. I could never again..

Play in the Rain :Ever since I was a child, if there is one thing that has never ceased to enthrall me it is watching the rain pour down.It brought me absolute unparalleled joy.Watching the elfin drops trickle down and sweep through the green leaves of the trees in my garden, the crystalline window pane of my room,the wind-shield of my car and getting soaked into the temperate brown mud, leaving behind that warmly-tingling fragrance.Remember splashing in puddles, setting sail paper boats and intentionally leaving behind my umbrella to get soaked in the rain.Memories aglow.
Be my Daddy's little girl : Walking with him and seeing the world through his eyes.Feeling secure and protected. By far the most missed. It came with the growing up. With the knowledge that walking with your dad holding your finger is read as sign of immaturity and lack of independence. So somewhere along the advancement, intentionally or otherwise we learn to let go.I learnt to let go.Be responsible for myself.
Dream: Dream Big. Dream High. Dream of all those wonderful things that I want, to be a part of my glorious life ahead. And not just dreaming but believing and truly that all of it will come true.Innocent and all-embracing faith in that beautiful world beyond the horizon seen through my window.Untouched by the prick of practical reality.
Laugh : All those times when the tiniest butterfly whistling past with its emblazoned wings, or slightest mischievous nod from my brother when we were upto our impish pranks cracked me up.Unconfined and uninhibited.Pure and wholehearted.When the world around never failed to amuse me.
Never having to forgive: Simply because fights were about pencils and toys and they didn't last more than a few sixtieths of an hour.Egos were unhurt,pride undamaged and tears metamorphosed into chuckles in no time.
Being me : The greatest freedom that comes with being a kid.Being yourself.When your hushed giggles in a serious gathering,set ripples of laughter going.When you din't have to pretend to like something you din't.When you could disapprove or speak out and nobody would hold it against you and judge you.
School: The illustrious abode that stood witness to all the apprenticing, all the maturing.In time we outgrew it. Our second home. We can only look back at it now..Cherish the memories and bask in its afterglow..

A tryst with Malluism..

Having lived a greater part of my life here in Kerala and and still stammering when it comes to Malayalam can be more than hazardous sometimes.It gets all the more difficult to connect with a larger group since Id rather not speak at all than end up uttering a truckload of gibberish in Malayalam. And mind you thats a decision Ive taken after much trial and error :P

For example the other day my friend explained to me the meaning of a certain word I had been coming across often..and in my hazy excitement of trying to use it, instead of referring to one of my classmates as "Nammude chengaathi(vaguely translated to " Our friend") " I ended up proclaiming out loud "Nammude chelanthi ( read : "Our SPIDER!!") " :P , but of course much to the endless amusement of all my friends,owing to which I was the butt of jokes for the rest of the week!..

Moreover being the lone North-Indian within miles of vicinity of a large group of a "certain typical kind" of malayalis can be quite exhausting as well! Apart from the fact that you get stared at like you're not from a different state but a different planet altogether, some days it can mean a lot of hard work :P since they start treating you like the sole representative of the entire half of the country!! Now this goes to say that you become nothing short of a walking-talking suggestion box amongst them and therefore all complaints,suggestions and queries bearing the remotest connection to "The North" get by-default directed to you!

So this one time my neighbor,in her mid forties,who seemingly believes that all North-Indians are nothing but a bunch of high minded invaders into "her" country (read: Aryan-Dravidian theory) who look down upon all South-Indians, walks up to me the other day.She is a die hard fan of Mohanlal and so out-of-the-blue she says..

Neighbor : Mohanlal should be given The Bharat Ratna this year..
Me *taken aback*: Err..!!??..That'll probably take some more time coz.. *before i say any further*
Neighbor : Hah! All you Naarth-yindianz will say that only!
Me : North Indians? :|
Neighbor: Yeah you all cant see beyond Amitabh Bachchan!!..
Me:Whaa...!?!?!?!?!...

One other time Im talking to this friend of mine and she walks right up,cuts in,looks me in the eye and says..

Neighbor: Why are YOU people fighting over Ayodhya!??! Sheyy!!..
Me*thinking*: what? who? where?..:|
Neighbor : If Ayodhya was in Nammude Keralamyou would have seen how peacefully we dealt with it.. We can maintain peace and order so well..blah blah..*5 minutes later*..
Me: :| yeah I get it..But why are you telling ME this??.. what can i do?..
Neighbor : They are your people!!..Northies!!..
Me : WTF??!!.. :|

See what I mean?..

Even more surprising were reactions and comments I used to get from a certain teacher I had in school.She not only took great pride in the fact that she was a mallu..but also had very "enlightening" ideas about North-Indians..
Teacher : I live in Bhopal long back.. You know girls? Northies no take bath yeveryday.. We keralalites know how to be clean.. We oil our hair and used to wash daily, but northies no do it!.. So we are beautiful !.. *grinning ear to ear*
Me : Eh?.. :|
Teacher : Agamsha!!(ME) You didint like wat i told i dink!You tell me do u take bath everyday??..
Me: !!!! :| Of course Ma'am!..
Teacher: Dont Lie! There is no oil in yuver hair.. I know you dont!..
Me : WTF!! :| *amidst the entire class snickering in the background*

Lol.. So you see! Being amidst a bunch of people who aren't exactly acquainted with your lifestyle can be pretty hilarious! ;)

But yeah inspite of these eccentricities .. I think Id still say its "Ente Keralam"..:)

Imagine : Your week kick-starts with hours of jam-packed BORING lectures and classes on schedule and even whilst you for-see no escape and are praying desperately "Oh god not anymore of these! Puh-leez! I'll do anything just make it stop.. " , its nothing short of a MIRACLE when unexpectedly one of your prayers to the Almighty ACTUALLY get answered with the district collector announcing the rest of the week OFF!:D Courtesy : Incessant rainfall.. (honestly god bless his soul! :D)

And ofcourse its a given you're on a roll after that, mentally making plans to hit your fav hangout and PAARTTTAAAYYY!!.. All set and all excited..without a care in the world!..Ahem! But then again when have we kids got it so easy anyway? :P

Enter Parents!! (Need i really say anymore? :P)

Yes!..all your dreams get flushed down the drain and the "oh-so-gorgeous-lifesaver" rain you were blessing all this while is left with having to bear the brunt of your curses!!..

So the KICKASS weekend you hoped for metamorphizes into a slow dull string of days followed by a lazier slow-ER weekend!..

Now having to put up with levels of boredom that can literally drive you to the edge..there comes a point where you just stand up and say "Bas bahut hua!Enough!".. Ahem! So here iam after weighing out all the possibilities of busting the boredom.. :P

And with this being my first entry I thought it would be a good time to put up something i had penned down quite some time back in memory of my school and friends..

So here goes.. :)

Somewhere between the procrastination..

The assignments....and the homework...

The incessant forwards ...and long chats...

The friendships ...and the crushes....

The bad hair days... and the "Im-on-top-of-the-world" times...

Somewhere between the phone calls to old friends...

And the "I miss you's" ....

And the "I love you's" ....:)

And the "What are we doing tomorrow?"..

And somewhere between all of the Changing learning and growing..

Somewhere between the classes...

And the bunkin classes....

And the studyin for tests ...

And the 'pretending' to study for tests ....;)

And the downright NOT studying for tests...:D

Somewhere between all those silly fights... n great laughs...painful tears and the innocent years we spent in school together...

Somewhere along the course of the most awesome years of my life that i spent in Holy Angels' ISC...

I learnt what life is really about...

I learnt what school life is all about....

I learnt what it meant to cry when everything around you seems to crumble...and also how u can laugh till you cry....

I learnt that times can get screwy,a lotta times beyond measure... and wheather we like it or not after one point all good things come to an end...

You can't always 'just forget' the past..n that movin' on isnt exactly the simplest thng to do....

and that u can never trust the future no matter how secure it may seem....

I learnt that sometimes at the end of the day..you just can't control falling in love with the people around you....

How you really shouldn't giva DAMN about what the 'oders' say...

n how you should just follow your heart..and never let go of a chance to smile.. :)

And watever it maybe somewhere down the line.... it's okay to mess up...n..fuck things up -- 'BIG TIME'...

N'it's okay to complain and whine to all your friends for a whole

day... :P ;)

because you cant always have what you want....and that you have to learn to make the best of what u get...n harness the strength to beat the odds..

Not just for yourself..but also for those special people who are always standin by you..

The greatest thing about life is the friendships, which means taking chances..... and that my Alma~Mater....and my friends...

Both Old and New..

Mean the WORLD to me..

And if it wasn't for them, I wouldn't be who I am today...and they play the most important roles in my life...

So this is a thank you to all of my friends...

For always being there for me...At all the times when i needed them the most...

and yeah...its also an apology if i ever hurt u people in anyway...im really sorry!!... i wuda neva meant to...
